Themes 2026

UK BBQ WEEK 2026

We’re back again for 2026, and here are this year’s themes. As always, we’d love you to share your BBQ creations, so please post them on our social media pages. Some of our supporters will also be offering discounts and prizes so subscribe  and keep checking their socials.

Don’t forget to use the hashtag #ukbbqweek so we don’t miss anything.

Saturday 2nd – Sides, Sauces & Steaks

Sides are the backbone of any BBQ and often overlooked. Pit beans, corn, potato salad—just a few classics. We want to see your favourites, along with your sauces and your best steaks.

Sunday 3rd – Sunday Dinner

The classic Sunday Dinner, a nation’s favourite. Traditional or with a twist, it’s entirely up to you. Fire up the BBQ and show us what you’ve got.

Monday 4th – Mexican Monday

Mexican food and BBQ are a perfect combo. From chillies to tacos, fajitas to a parrillada—get your grill lit and let’s see your creations.

Tuesday 5th – Tarts, Pies & Pastry

Fruit pies, meat pies, pastry treats—there’s plenty to choose from to challenge your skills.

Wednesday 6th – World Food

The world is a small place culinary‑wise, with ingredients from countless cuisines now readily available. Asian, Middle Eastern, African, South American—just for starters. Show us what you can do and maybe introduce us to something new.

Thursday 7th – Thrifty Thursday

We all know food costs are rising, so show us your best budget dishes—meat‑based or plant‑based. Anything goes: “whoopsie” bargains, reduced‑price veg, or clever low‑cost creations. We just want to see what you’ve cooked.

Friday 8th – Fakeaway Friday

Big flavours, bold portions, and the smug satisfaction of knowing you made it yourself. Show us your reimagined classics: crispy “fried” chicken that never saw a deep fryer, burgers stacked higher than your weekend ambitions, or anything else you fancy creating.

Saturday 9th – Low & Slow

Classic low and slow cooking. Beef short ribs, pork ribs, cheeks—so many cuts lend themselves beautifully to a long, gentle cook.

Sunday 10th – Brunch & Sweet Treats

Get the coffee on for a relaxing Sunday brunch. What are you grilling for us? It could be a breakfast burrito or some potato and chorizo hash. For sweet treats, think pancakes, waffles, French toast—the choice is yours. Just post your cooks along with the hashtag #ukbbqweek.

As always, we’ll be posting new recipes for you to try, but most of all we want you to get outside and have a go. We’d love to see your cooks, so please share them on our UK BBQ Week social media pages.

And remember to include #ukbbqweek.
